While Hemp Hearts are easy to use to gain nutritional benefits there are a few guidelines to keep in mind for a smooth integration into your life.
- Eat at least 5 tablespoons daily. This is the minimum Hemp Hearts you need to eat daily to experience any health benefits. Adding a few Hemp Hearts to a recipe or sprinkling them over your food will do nothing for your health.
- Eat them in the morning. Since Hemp Hearts are mainly protein and fat, your body will burn them slowly giving you an abundance of energy throughout the day. If you eat them too late in the day, you may feel restless at night or have a difficult time sleeping.
Other things to keep in mind: -
Loose stools. If you eat a lot of carbohydrates, then when you start eating Hemp Hearts your stools may be looser than normal because the hemp is cleaning out the sludge in your system. If you continue to eat a lot of carbohydrates while using Hemp Hearts, then you may continue to have looser stools. We suggest cutting back or eliminating the carbohydrates since they’re not so great for your system anyway. -
Gradual food transitions. Some people try to change their diet in a big way all at once and that can cause problems. For example, if you drink a pot of coffee a day and then stop while adding Hemp Hearts to your diet in an effort to be “healthy,” you will probably stop up your system because you no longer have caffeine helping you to poop and it will have nothing to do with the hemp. Try gradual transitions when eliminating large amounts of caffeine or sugar from your body and allow your system to get used to the natural boost you will get from the Hemp Hearts. -
Timing of meals. If you are trying to lose weight, eat Hemp Hearts with a full breakfast in the morning and reduce your food consumption in the afternoon and evening. Eat a significant portion of Hemp Hearts in the morning, you should be able to skip or at least reduce your intake later in the day. -
Increase portion if needed. If you are trying to lose weight, then you probably want to cut back your food consumption. If you eat enough Hemp Hearts in the morning, you will find it easy to skip lunch and you can make it through the rest of your day with a light dinner. If you find yourself hungry at lunch, add another tablespoon of Hemp Hearts to breakfast the next day. Keep adding them day by day until you can make it through to dinner. |
