  • 240 Calories of Energy
  • 15 g Protein
  • 15 g Polyunsaturated Fats (11.4 g Omega 6 & 3.6 g Omega 3)
  • 2.7 g Mono-Unsaturated Fats (Omega9)
  • 2.1 g Saturated Fats
  • 4.5 g Carbohydrates
  • 2.5 g Fiber
  • 2 mg Iron
  • 31 mg Calcium
  • 3.8a mg Sodium
  • 3.8 mg Vitamin E
  • 956 IU Vitamin D
  • .42 mg Vitamin C
  • .05 mg Vitamin B6
  • .14 mg Vitamin B2
  • .58 mg Vitamin B1
  • 1.68 IU Vitamin A

The dark Belgian chocolate in half of one bar contains 9 g of sugar, usually insignificant in comparison with the quantities of protein, essential fats and other valuable nutrients present. Those who avoid all sugar, try using Hemp Hearts with vegetables for breakfast—a less expensive, more nutritious choice.

Each “MORE THAN A SQUARE MEAL” (200 g) tastes wonderfully like chocolate with one of many complimentary fruit or nut toppings, and actually consists mostly of Hemp Hearts™—the best source of protein, essential fats, vitamins and enzymes on the Earth.

Serving Suggestion: These bars can be consumed like many separate protein and energy bars. Try as a large number of tiny but nutrient packed meal components (servings) OR as several complete, high protein, high energy morning meals. About half of one bar is sufficient for most individuals for a special breakfast—after which they may find that they may not require lunch and can further restrict themselves to a raw vegetable salad in the evening—especially on those days when they wish to lose weight.

An Easily Digested Protein Snack
Because protein is our most essential nutrient, human hunger levels are tuned to the amount of protein available to the body at any time. The 15 g of easily digested protein in the Hemp Hearts™ component of about half of one bar will protect the breakfast user from significant hunger until at least mid-afternoon. Those who begin their day with at least half of one bar can easily avoid lunch as well as the later consumption of non-essential “fillers” and “energy boosters”---foods usually composed mostly of sugar, starches and add fats.

Boost YOUR Energy
Because the human body uses fat for storing energy, it is unable to extract energy from fat quickly—quite the opposite of sugars and starches. Energy produced from digesting fat arrives evenly, unlike the energy roller coaster experienced by those who eat frequent meals containing sugar, starch and coffee. Unless they need to lose weight, those who begin their day with about half of one bar discover that the 17.7 g of omega fats supplied by the Hemp Hearts™ component provides sufficient, continuous energy until evening. Those who consume foods early each morning containing large percentages of protein and essential fats are not inclined to consume foods made mostly with sugar, starch and added fats—foods that often cause premature health failure.

PREVENT Premature Health Failure
Premature health failure may first appear as high cholesterol—a sign that veins and arteries have lost their elasticity because of imperfect diet. Premature health failure may first appear as high blood pressure—a sign that the heart is over-worked, required to pump blood through too many miles of sluggish blood vessels. Premature health failure may first appear as type II diabetes—a sign that relevant organs are no longer capable of processing sweet foods and starches. Premature health failure may first appear as celiac disease—a sign that the digestive system is unable to process the excessive amounts of gluten and starches that are consumed repeatedly when the body is hungry only because it requires more protein. Premature health failure may sometimes first appear as depression-often a sign that an individual is unhappy with the shape and limited function of a body that has become overweight and sluggish from a diet high in sweet foods and starches.

Those who wish to change their diets to reverse late onset health problems can try and eat enough of one bar early each morning to avoid hunger until mid-afternoon. It is recommended that one may want to consume fluids without calories during the day, and especially when they feel hungry. One may want to also restrict their after-breakfast consumption of food on those days when they wish to lose weight, to a large raw vegetable salad, eaten in the late afternoon without significant dressing. In order for the nutritional benefits of the Bars and Hemp Hearts to provide for you the best of what they have to offer, avoid foods made mostly with sugar, starch and added fats.

Toppings Available: Almond, Cashew, Pecan, Macadamia, Brazil Nut, Pine Nut, Cranberry, Blueberry, Dried Plum (Prune), and Coconut.

ALLERGY INFORMATION: Hemp Hearts are free of pesticides, herbicides, preservatives and gluten, but were produced as whole seeds on farms which commonly grow peas, oil seeds and cereal crops. The bitter-sweet chocolate used is almost entirely cocoa solids (20 g), cocoa butter (3 g) and sugar(18 g) -- totally without trans-fats, dairy products, cholesterol, eggs or animal fats--but it does also contain less than one percent soy lecithin emulsifier and natural vanilla. Most, but not all, of the toppings used are raw, free of preservatives and have no added sugar. No peanuts are used in our facilities. Nut and fruit products are made on alternate days to avoid most cross contaminate but, we do not guarantee the absence of any allergens. Individuals with aversions to any sugar source, any packaging materials, any farming practices, or any labour management practices should choose other food items.

Hemp Heart Tips PDF Print E-mail
Information
While Hemp Hearts are easy to use to gain nutritional benefits there are a few guidelines to keep in mind for a smooth integration into your life.
  1. Eat at least 5 tablespoons daily. This is the minimum Hemp Hearts you need to eat daily to experience any health benefits.  Adding a few Hemp Hearts to a recipe or sprinkling them over your food will do nothing for your health.
  2. Eat them in the morning. Since Hemp Hearts are mainly protein and fat, your body will burn them slowly giving you an abundance of energy throughout the day.  If you eat them too late in the day, you may feel restless at night or have a difficult time sleeping.

Studies and Surveys regarding Nutrition, Fats and Oils.

Of course these oils have nutritional value, but those who eat them regularly do not have better health than those who eat other oils
  • Population studies from Iceland indicate that those who eat cooked whole foods daily (Fish) containing tiny percentages of essential fats (Omega 3 & 6) are unlikely to get Heart Disease.
  • Population studies from the Maritime regions of Canada and the United States, in which cooked fish are eaten daily indicate that a relatively high percentage of these individuals live healthy lives beyond 100 years.
