The perfect after school snack or lunch time treat, Hemp Crisps are a light, delicious cookie packed full of nutritious Hemp Hearts.
Servings: Makes approximately 80 silver dollar sized cookies; serves 16-20
Ingredients:
- 1 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 ¼ cup butter
- 4 large eggs
- 3 cups Hemp Hearts
- 1 ¼ cup flour
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
Directions:
- Position a rack one slot below the topmost in the oven.
- Preheat to 325°F (165°C).
- Melt 1 ¼ cup butter in a medium pot over a low flame. It is helpful to select a pot large enough to accommodate the dry ingredients once they are added.
- Stir 1 1/3 cup brown sugar into the hot melted butter.
- Beat together 4 large eggs and add to the wet mixture.
- In a large bowl, mix 3 cups of Hemp Hearts, 1 ¼ cup white flour, and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon.
- Add dry mix to wet mix.
- Using an electric mixer set on low speed, beat until batter is consistently moist, about 2 minutes.
- For easier removal and slightly less crisp cookie, use parchment paper on top of an ungreased cookie sheet. Without parchment paper, lightly grease the cookie sheet.
- Tip: The longer the batter sits the more thick it will become. Work swiftly with the newly mixed batter.
- Make thin and even round deposits on cookie sheets, spacing them ¼ to ½ inch apart. Do this by either spoon dripping batter onto the sheet or using an icing bag and tip. A 16 inch icing bag and # 806 or smaller tip is recommended.
- Cook until crisp, approximately 10 minutes using parchment paper, 8 minutes without.
Note:
- The longer the batter sits the more thick it will become.
- For lighter, more porous cookies increase egg and/or decrease flour slightly.
- Suggestion from Customer - ADD ANY TYPE OF DRIED OR CUT FRESH FRUIT FOR AN ADDED BONUS WITH YOUR COOKIES. Try mini chocolate chips, oatmeal, raisins, etc!
Hemp Crisps - Smaller Recipe

A breakfast bar your kids will love!
Servings: Makes approximately 4 - 4"x 4" breakfast bar servings. When you cut it into 4, there'll be approximately 1 serving (5 tblsp) of Hemp Hearts per bar. Also can make 8-16 snack portions.
***Tip: Double the recipe in the same pan and use only 6 cups of cereal and this will make 8 - 2"x 4" breakfast bar servings. And whatever you can't fit in the pan will make a great cereal crumbled up with some hemp or almond milk.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup natural syrup type sweetener - Honey, Agave, Brown Rice Syrup, Maple Syrup, Molasses, etc. (Feel free to combine some of these together to get the right flavour of sweetness you may desire - ie half honey and half rice syrup to cut the sweetness of the honey down)
- 1 1/3 cups Hemp Hearts
- 4 cups your favorite healthy dried cereal (ie - Nature Valley, Kashi, PC Organics are all good brands and Raw quick oats can work to for an oatmeal bar)
- 1 cup small pieces of dried fruit (cranberries, blueberries, chopped apricots, raisins, etc)
- A pinch of sea salt (optional)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
Variations: try half fruit and half nuts. Experiment and have fun with it!
Directions:
- Using an 8x8 pan, line with wax paper or coat with coconut oil.
- Pour honey into a medium sized sauce pan and bring to a rolling boil on medium heat and then reduce to the lowest heat. Allow to bubble lightly for 2-3 mins or until a soft ball candy stage is reached. Add your salt and your cinnamon at this point and stir.
- Quickly add all of the dried ingredients like the Hemp Hearts, cereal and dried fruit and stir until well coated using a metal or wooden spoon or silicon spatula may be used.
- Pour mixture in to 8x8 pan and allow to cool until it is cool enough for you to pack down the mixture with your hands. You'll know the mixture is cool enough when the mixture won't stick to your hands while compacting it.
- Put the pan in the fridge or the freezer to allow the bars to cool. About 20 mins.
- Pull the bars out and cut to desired serving size and enjoy!

A delicious snack on the go! Great for sporting, hiking and camping activities!
Servings: 10
Ingredients:
- 6 ½ - 7 Tbsp Hemp Hearts (use less if you want less of a hemp taste)
- 2 Tbsp Raw Honey
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon
- 50g high quality Belgium dark chocolate (optional)
Directions:
- Put the honey into a pan and simmer for 3-5 minutes. The amount of time depends on how runny the honey is. Basically you want to reduce the water content of the honey so that it becomes solid when cold. I heated it to a soft ball stage so they aren’t completely crunchy (easier on the teeth).
- Once the honey is the right consistency remove from the heat and stir in the cinnamon and Hemp Hearts.
- Immediately spoon the mixture onto grease proof paper (parchment paper or silicon mat) and form into 10 flat circular shapes (Tip: can be rolled out and then broke it into smaller bite size pieces).
- Leave the snaps to set for 10 minutes until set then loosen from the paper.
- Melt the chocolate using a double boiler method. Dip half of each of the snaps into the chocolate and leave to set on the paper.
- Once the chocolate has set they are ready to eat. Keep in an airtight container and they should last for a week.
